Independent Living is like having your own home - but better because the chores are done for you. Meals are prepared and served, weekly housekeeping and linen laundry is done, and you enjoy the additional security of 24/7 staff and an on-call emergency alert system.
Residents of Sun Village are free to relax, enjoy their interests and hobbies and socializing with families and friends. Arrangements can be made to share meals with visitors and there is a visitor's suite available, so residents can offer out-of-town visitors a low-cost place to stay. It is like having a guest room - with someone else washing the linens.
Your time is your own. Participation in the various activities offered on-site is voluntary: it is your choice to attend or not. However, many residents find the social meals and activities are among the reasons they love living at Sun Village. With new friends and caring staff, moving into Sun Village is akin to joining a close-knit community, where residents look out for each other.
Our residents tell us:
"I was living alone and my house was too lonely. I decided to move in December 1987. I enjoy the social atmosphere and my own privacy if I choose. Sun Village is central to all amenities that Penticton has to offer. I am over 90 years old and I got everything here!”
"Sun Village was recommended to us and we decided it was the place for us. The staff are so kind and helpful and see to all our needs. We find that most of the meals are fine. We enjoy all the staff and fellow residents. They are all so friendly and I feel at home here."
