Park Place Seniors Living is searching for people who are looking for a rewarding career in Seniors Care. Health Care Aide training is a 26- week program, that can be done on campus or online and in part a practicum in a health care agency, including the Park Place Senior Living selected locations.
What is a Health Care Aide?
Health Care Aides are essential to our seniors assisted living communities. They provide direct support when it comes to daily self-care and personal needs. Health Care Aides perform vital daily duties such as helping residents out of bed in the morning, completing housekeeping tasks, and helping seniors get to and from social activities in the senior community.
Health Care Aides don’t just provide physical assistance, but also serve as advocates for promoting and maintaining the health, safety, independence, comfort, and overall well-being of individuals and their families.
What does the training program look like?
The HCA program is 26 weeks in total. During the first 16 weeks, students complete theory classes (online or in-person). Then in-person lab courses on campus, followed by completion of 270 hours of practice in residential and community care settings during the final ten weeks of the program.
During training, students will work with residents in a recreation capacity and support staff with other aspects of operations. As a graduate, you will become a member of the health care team and work under the direction and supervision of a health professional.
